"Maxie"

"From a hilarious, impossibly energetic puppy to a mature companion and friend, Maxie’s intelligence was challenging, and her love and devotion, priceless. She was so much more than a dog; she was my joy, the dog I wanted all my life, a soul-mate. Without her sparkle, life has become ordinary. Maxie was the uncommon dog described in heart-felt stories and poetry—not because of heroism or service, but simply because of her devotion and her capacity to share a level of love, communication, and understanding with me that was truly rare. I will miss my Maxie until my dying breath with the hope that sometime, somewhere we will meet again."

"Madison" was brought in to JAHE in May 2001. She was the lone survivor when her mother was hit by a car. She became a little 'ambassador' for her species at JAHE and helped to change a lot of peoples' attitudes towards opossums with her calm, gentle demeanor.
